Host: Karolinska Institutet
Type: Core facility
BBMRI.se will optimize techniques for analysis of stored samples and IT-systems for biobanking. We will ensure that the large amounts of data have uniformity and high quality, and that they are easily accessible for research. We will also thoroughly research the ethical, legal and social aspects of biobanking. Read more
Image Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis (BEA)
Host: Department of Biosciences and Nutrition (Karolinska Institutet)
Type: Core facility
BEA- the core facility for Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis is focused on genomic analysis based on the Affymetrix, Agilent and Illumina platforms for microarray analysis. This includes gene expression and RNA splicing analysis, global DNA-binding and transcriptome analysis, epigenetic analysis including DNA-methylation and miRNA analysis and genome wide SNP and CNV analysis. We also run quantitative real-time PCR using the ABI platform. Read more
Image Bioproduction Centre
Host: Department of Bioprocess Technology (School of Biotechnology)
Type: Core facility
The Bioproduction Centre offers contract work in the areas of biomass and protein production, process development, product purification, and analyses. Our cultivation capacity consists of 5L, 20L and 600L bioreactors. The bioprocess group has vast experience with Escherichia coli, Pichia pastoris, insect and mammalian cells. Harvested cell cultures can be delivered directly or further processed downstream for recovery and purification of target product. Read more
