Image Bioproduction Centre
Host: Department of Bioprocess Technology (School of Biotechnology)
Type: Core facility
The Bioproduction Centre offers contract work in the areas of biomass and protein production, process development, product purification, and analyses. Our cultivation capacity consists of 5L, 20L and 600L bioreactors. The bioprocess group has vast experience with Escherichia coli, Pichia pastoris, insect and mammalian cells. Harvested cell cultures can be delivered directly or further processed downstream for recovery and purification of target product. Read more
Image Centre for Cell Analysis, CCA
Host: Department of Pathology (Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge)
Type: Core facility
The aim of the Centre for Cell Analysis (CCA) is to provide scientists with high quality service in cell sorting, flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy. Read more
Image CETEG, Cell Technology Group
Host: School of Biotechnology (Royal Institute of Technology (KTH))
Type: Core facility
CETEG offers services of animal/human cell culture-based process up to 20L bioreactor scale. The available services are development of animal cell based processes suitable for industrial production of biopharmaceutical (e.g. antibody, glycoprotein) in view of clinical phase manufacturing, glycoprotein production for the manufacturing of material for toxicological tests or as tool for research, etc.. Work according to GLP is provided when necessary. Read more

Gamma radiation exposure facilities, Stockholm University Centre for Radiation Protection Research
Host: Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Toxicology (Faculty of Science)
Type: Specific technique
Gamma (137 Cs) exposure facilities for high or low dose rate exposures are available for the radiation of e.g cells, cell cultures, DNA and proteins. Read more
Image Liver Cell Laboratory - Primary Hepatocytes
Host: Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge (Karolinska University Hospital)
Type: Core facility
The Liver Cell Laboratory at the Unit of Transplantation surgery, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and technology (CLINTEC), isolates primary human hepatocytes. Primary human liver cells are a unique resource that is not widely available because of difficulties in acquiring human liver tissue and viable cell isolation. We offer our solid experience and expertise within the hepatocyte field. Read more
Image Luminex Core Facility
Host: Department of Dental Medicine (Karolinska Institutet)
Type: Core facility
The Luminex system is multi-analyte bioassay detection system capable of multiplexing up to 100 assays simultaneously in a single microplate well, using a sample volume of only 50 microliters. Read more
Image Peptide synthesis and cell-penetrating peptides
Host: Department of Neurochemistry (Faculty of Science)
Type: Specific technique
At the Department of Neurochemistry we have developed a solid-phase methodology to synthesize peptides, with the purpose to study different processes in disease. Furthermore, we study cell-penetrating peptides that function as cellular transporters through biological membranes, with the purpose to develop a system for delivering drugs across the blood barrier. Image Plankton Analysis Facility
Host: Department of Systems Ecology (Faculty of Science)
Type: Core facility
Fully accredited laboratory for plankton analysis. Our facility serves for microscopic and molecular analysis for assessment of species composition, quantity, growth and metabolism of aquatic microorganisms. Read more
Image RNAi High-throughput Screening (HTS) Facility
Host: Science for Life Laboratory (Karolinska Institute, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University)
Type: Core facility
The purpose of the RNAi Cell Screening facility is to provide access to micro plate based high throughput RNAi screens in cells for the Swedish scientific community. RNAi mediated inhibition of gene expression is a powerful tool for mapping genes and their function. The facilities have presently two human genome wide RNAi libraries (for more information please see http://www.scilifelab.se/archive/pdf/tmp/Cell_Screening_extra.pdf). Read more
